Description
A double (two-block-wide) solid sandstone block retaining wall, drawn in section at 1:20. Sandstone blocks 1000 long × 500 wide × 500 high are stacked in staggered courses, two blocks deep at the base and stepping back, founded on a rubble footing over a compacted subgrade at 100% dry density ratio and embedded a minimum of 300mm below the lower ground line. Reduced levels, the original batter line and the toe batter are marked, so the wall can be set out against surveyed levels.
The two-block width suits taller cuts where a single course of blocks is not stable. It is a ready civil/landscape standard you drop into a site or retaining-wall drawing and dimension to your levels and geotechnical advice.
