Description
A tree preservation detail covering excavation around and near existing trees, drawn as a plan and a section with a full set of tree-protection notes. The plan sets out the critical root zone (CRZ, based on 20 × trunk diameter) and primary root zone (PRZ, 10 × diameter) with temporary protective fencing and the allowable excavation tangent; the section shows piering, a moisture barrier and local shoring where a retaining wall runs close to the roots.
The notes spell out where excavation, piering and root-cutting are and are not permitted, and where the arborist must advise – the requirements that typically appear on a council-approved tree-protection or arboricultural plan. Use it as a ready reference standard to adapt to each site.
