Description
A detail covering excavation around and near existing trees, drawn as a plan and a section with a full set of tree-protection notes. The plan sets out the critical root zone (CRZ, 20 × trunk diameter) and primary root zone (PRZ, 10 × diameter) with temporary protective fencing and the single allowable excavation tangent; the section shows piering, a moisture barrier and local shoring where a new retaining wall runs close to the roots, so the wall can be built without drying out or cutting the major roots.
The notes spell out where excavation, piering and root-cutting are and are not permitted and where the arborist must advise – the requirements that appear on a council-approved tree-protection plan. Use it as a ready reference standard to adapt to each site.
