Description
A levelling strip footing detail for founding a wall or precast panel on high-strength rock, drawn at 1:20 and 1:10. A concrete levelling strip is cast on a cut-level bench in the rock to give a true, level bearing surface, with a schedule setting the strip depth and width (denoted LS1, LS2 and so on) for both 800 kPa and 3500 kPa bearing capacities; the section shows precast walls seated on the strip with the trench taken locally down to sound rock beneath each wall.
It is a reusable structural standard for sites where competent rock is close to the surface – drop it into a footing drawing and dimension the strip from the engineer’s schedule and geotechnical advice.
