Description
A typical internal wall detail (type W3) drawn at 1:10, showing an acoustically separated partition where it meets the roof and floor. The section sets out a staggered 90 × 35 MGP10 stud arrangement (90/30/90) with an air gap and Bradford Soundscreen R2.5 batts on one side, 13mm Gyprock Fyrchek both faces, a cement-sheet floor overlay on the existing joists and a new LVL under the wall for acoustic separation of the non-load-bearing partition – giving an approximate acoustic Rw value of 60.
The layers, framing sizes and fixings are all labelled, so the detail works as a reference for building a high-performance partition or adapting one into your own renovation drawings. Insert it and note the partitions where this build-up is required.
One of a coordinated set with W1, W2 and W4 in the architectural details category. A free AutoCAD DWG download.
