Description
A typical internal footing beam detail, drawn in section at 1:20, showing an internal footing beam carried on a pier where it runs through the middle of a building. The beam is dimensioned by width (W) and depth (D), drawn with its reinforcement cage, and the note refers back to the schedule – where beams are denoted FB1, FB2 and so on – for the size and reinforcing bars, so one detail serves every internal footing-beam mark on the job.
It is a ready structural standard you drop into a footing or foundation plan and dimension from the engineer’s schedule, rather than redrawing the section for each beam.
