Description
Typical solid (rigid) duct support details for HVAC sheet-metal ductwork, gathering the common hanging arrangements on one sheet. It shows a support hung from a roof purlin with a 5mm cleat welded to the rod, a typical support and an alternate support hung from the floor slab on Unistrut P2000 channel and M10 threaded rod, an insulated-duct support with a PVC spacer, and the channel, formed-channel and angle support details – with a 40 × 40 × 3 angle used under larger ducts.
The notes set the rules: supports at maximum 2500mm centres, threaded rod fixed directly into concrete for ducts up to 300 × 300, formed C-channel as an alternative, and angle support for ducts over 300 × 300. Drop it into your mechanical drawings and adjust to suit the duct size.
