Description
A metal duct insulation specification sheet for HVAC drawings, setting out the two grades of duct insulation and an approved alternative. Internal (acoustic) insulation is described as glass wool bonded with thermosetting resin under a heavy-duty perforated aluminium facing; external (thermal) insulation is glass wool with a plain heavy-duty aluminium facing; and a closed-cell sheet insulation is allowed as an alternative to fibreglass, at reduced thickness – each with a typical proprietary product named and a default 25mm thickness unless noted otherwise.
Drop it onto a mechanical drawing as the project duct-insulation standard and edit the products and thicknesses to suit your specification, rather than writing the note from scratch.
