A typical flexible-to-metal-duct connection detail for HVAC ductwork, showing how flexible (flex) duct is joined onto a rigid sheet-metal duct spigot so it cannot pull off or leak. The flex is pushed over the metal spigot past its swage bead and clamped with a 10mm-wide zinc-plated worm-drive strap, with duct tape added over the joint if required – the standard airtight connection between the two duct types.

It is a reusable mechanical-services standard you drop onto a duct layout wherever flex connects to hard duct, and size to the spigot diameter.
