Description
A typical minimum duct spigot offset detail for HVAC ductwork, showing how take-off spigots on opposite sides of a duct are staggered to stop noise passing straight across between rooms. One arrangement offsets the two spigots by at least 600mm along the duct; the alternative keeps a smaller offset but adds a 1000mm-long internal baffle plate riveted to the duct between them – both breaking the direct line of sight so sound (crosstalk) is not transmitted through the ducting.
It is a reusable acoustic standard for mechanical drawings, especially between bedrooms, offices or consulting rooms served off a common duct. Drop it in and set the offset or baffle to suit your layout.
